The American Seal & Engineering Combustion Seal is a high performance resilient metal seal developed for use as the primary sealing element on internal combustion engines. With over 0.002" useful spring back and tolerant to head dynamics up to 0.00015", this seal is well suited for diesel and other high performance gasoline engine applications.

 

The jacket is fabricated with a unique forming process using high temperature alloys as the base material. The specially designed jacket and helically wound spring provides a fatigue resistant gasket to meet the operating limits of temperature, pressure, and deflection associated with combustion engine applications. In the design of this unique gasket, our primary goal is high performance, reliability, and product integrity. Our design engineers apply the same principles used in many aerospace metal sealing applications into the design of our Combustion Seal.
